I love new ideas. And, unless you’re a tyrannical and slightly unhinged dictator of a small, corrupt country who fears, rightly so, that new ideas will ultimately lead to your downfall, you probably love them too. Ideas are what drive the world forward. They push us to be better – to create a better society, create a better world, create a better self and, dare I say it, create better companies and products. But ideas don’t happen in isolation. They happen through connections. Technology connects with experience and a new idea is born. History connects with the future and a new idea unleashes itself on the world. Ideas happen in a flash, but that flash is made possible by months or even years of making connections. I am Sam Koenderman, I am a freelance copywriter and creative director, and a full-time ideas whisperer. I have spent 25 years in the industry coaxing ideas from the connections that happen between brand and consumer. I haven’t always got it right, but I’m a fast and enthusiastic learner.
