I like to think of myself as a level headed person with an inclination towards flights of fancy. Or a dreamer, with a strong sense of groundedness. The emphasis changes depending on the day. I have had 25 years in the business, so you definitely wouldn’t call me flighty. I hope not jaded, either. 13 of those have been as a freelancer.

I am often asked why I stay a contract worker. Many reasons, really. One is the freedom. Another is that I believe being an outsider gives me a perspective on brands that being so involved often doesn’t. I enjoy coming into a project with no baggage. History, backstory, personal dynamics – these are things you can learn very quickly on a job. Baggage takes years to accumulate.

I always come with a fresh perspective and that, in my books, makes what I do invaluable. And fun.
